ABOUT

Magic Renovations & Repairs

A New Orleans renovation and construction company working across residential and light commercial property.

WHO WE ARE

Built around how the work actually runs

Magic Renovations & Repairs is a New Orleans-based renovation and construction company, and this city is the only place we work. We handle residential and light commercial jobs — full renovations, property rehab, interior and exterior improvements, and construction and project management — for homeowners, investors, property owners, and organizations across Greater New Orleans.

We talk a lot about quality workmanship, clear communication, and organized management, and honestly, those are easy words to put on a website. What’s harder is actually running a job that way, every time. So we judge ourselves by three things that don’t lie: was the scope written down, was the schedule real, and were changes priced before the work happened instead of argued about after the fact.

We take that side of the job just as seriously as the trade work itself, because on most renovations, it’s what actually decides whether a project finishes on time and on budget. A crew can hang beautiful drywall — but if nobody’s managing the job around them, you still end up with a bad renovation.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORK

MEET THE CONTRACTOR

Magic Renovations & Repairs was built around a straightforward approach to construction: understand the property, define the work clearly, communicate throughout the project, and manage the details from start to finish. As a New Orleans-based renovation and construction company, we understand that every property comes with its own conditions, challenges, and priorities. Whether we are renovating a home, rehabilitating an investment property, improving a multifamily building, or managing a light commercial project, we stay focused on keeping the work organized and the expectations clear. Our approach puts the same attention on project management as the finished workmanship, with written scopes, documented changes, realistic planning, and one point of contact throughout the process.

WHY LOCAL MATTERS HERE

New Orleans is not a generic construction market

Renovating in this city means dealing with conditions that a contractor from a drier, more stable market simply has not met. They are not obstacles so much as facts you plan around, and knowing them in advance is most of what separates an estimate that holds from one that grows.

The ground moves.

Soft, dewatering soils mean pier-and-beam houses shift. Sloping floors and cracked plaster are often a settlement story, not a finish story — leveling decisions come first, not after.

The climate is hard on buildings.

Heat and humidity make moisture management a design decision, not an afterthought — envelope details, HVAC sizing, and drying capacity all matter.

Termites are endemic.

Formosan termites are a serious, documented threat that eat structure, not just trim. Renovation is the one chance to see what's really there.

The housing stock is specific.

Shotguns, doubles, camelbacks, and raised center-halls each fail differently. Converting a double to a single is common — and structural, not cosmetic.

Older houses carry older materials.

Plaster over lath, old-growth cypress and heart pine worth saving, and pre-1978 homes carry lead-paint rules that shape the work.

HOW WE WORK

The things we hold to

Permitted work

Unpermitted renovation is a problem that surfaces at sale, at appraisal or at insurance claim, and it lands on the property owner rather than the contractor.

Written scope, written changes

Every project runs off a scope you can read, and nothing changes price without going in writing first.

One point of contact

From planning to completion, you’ll have one dedicated point of contact keeping your project organized, informed, and moving forward.
